is “rarely expensive”, it has always been regarded as an ugly duckling, which is
the lowest in white powder materials. However, in the development trend of
adjusting structure and transfer mode, some domestic calcium carbonate
enterprises have successively developed high value-added calcium carbonate
products. The old ugly duckling really turned into a white swan.
Say goodbye to "White Mansion" and "Slag Cave"
Calcium carbonate is an old traditional industry in China. Due to the
long-term market demand for low-value white powder materials, the domestic
calcium carbonate industry has been slow to upgrade, and has long been producing
low-end products. In the past few years, the average price of China's export
calcium carbonate is generally only about 140 US dollars per ton, while the
average price of imported calcium carbonate is generally about 450 US dollars
per ton, and the price of imported products is 3 times that of domestic
products. It can be seen that the grade and price of domestic calcium carbonate
products are quite different from those of similar foreign products.
Kang Heyi, secretary-general of the Calcium and Magnesium Branch of the
China Inorganic Salt Industry Association, told reporters that in the past, when
it came to the calcium carbonate industry, people naturally think of serious
pollution and low-grade products. In the production process, Bailong (white
water, white powder), black dragon (black smoke, black residue) raged, the
industry called the calcium carbonate plant "white mansion", "slag hole".
However, in the past two years, with the country's vigorous promotion of
industrial restructuring and energy conservation and emission reduction, China's
calcium carbonate industry has undergone large-scale transformation and
upgrading. At present, the company's lime calcination has gradually achieved
automation; lime digestion has evolved from a single retrofit ash to the current
trough ash, wheeled ash, etc.; the drying process is developed from the drying
of the heat transfer oil tube to the drying of the rotary tube, Rotary steam
drying, tray drying, etc.; carbonization process from a single high tower bubble
carbonization, low tower bubble carbonization to the current large diameter high
tower carbonization. Most companies have greatly improved the level of
production technology and equipment.
The upgrade of production technology has brought about product upgrades. At
present, a number of domestic calcium carbonate enterprises stand out in the
development of functional, serialized and specialized products. The automobile
chassis paint calcium carbonate produced by Jiangsu Changzhou Calcium Carbonate
Co., Ltd. accounts for 80% of the domestic market; the ink calcium produced by
Beijing Chemical Building Materials Factory accounts for 80% of the domestic
market; the adhesive nanometer produced by Guangdong Jiawei Chemical Industry
Co., Ltd. Calcium, pharmaceutical calcium carbonate produced by Zhejiang Jiande
Zhengfa Industrial Co., Ltd., toothpaste grade calcium carbonate produced by
Zhejiang Jiande Tianshi Calcium Carbonate Co., Ltd., coating grade papermaking
calcium produced by Dujiangyan Calcium Company, etc., all in the domestic market
Have a certain share. Various modified active calcium, special calcium, various
crystal forms of calcium carbonate, calcium carbonate with narrow particle size
distribution are emerging in an endless stream. These new varieties fill the
domestic gap and meet the special needs of different industries. Calcium
carbonate, a "high-energy, low value-added" traditional product that burns
limestone, has become the darling of the high-end market.
The more developed the economy, the more needed it is.
Jiang Shiguang, deputy secretary-general of China Inorganic Salt Industry
Association, has been concerned about the future of traditional industries such
as calcium carbonate. He believes that calcium carbonate is still a sunrise
industry, and low-carbon, energy-saving nanotechnology is a new engine for the
development of the calcium carbonate industry.
He believes that to look at the development trend and vitality of a
product, we must first study the market development of the product in the United
States, Europe and Japan. After all, the United States, Europe and Japan are the
main forces of today's world economy. Analysis of calcium carbonate industry in
western developed countries, we can see calcium carbonate as a basic chemical
raw material commodity, its supply and demand relationship and the macroeconomic
development of western countries are stable and linear development, certain
economic aggregates need a certain quantity and quality of inorganic salt
products, support. Especially now, because calcium carbonate is the only
industry in which carbon dioxide is effectively utilized in the limestone
processing industry, under the advocacy of a low-carbon economy, the world's
economic powers have increased the development and application of calcium
carbonate products. This can be proved by the development trend of the expansion
of the satellite light calcium carbonate production model to the global
expansion by large American companies and the rise of stone paper with calcium
carbonate as the main raw material in China.
It is understood that at present, a new development trend in the global
calcium carbonate industry is that various special-purpose calcium carbonate
production and its downstream large users - paper, paint and other production
plants constitute a satellite industrial structure.
Close to these large users supporting production, calcium carbonate can be
piped in the form of slurry, eliminating the drying process of calcium carbonate
slurry, which can save a lot of energy and greatly reduce production costs. The
domestic calcium carbonate industry has noticed this development trend in the
world. Some large-scale light calcium carbonate enterprises have begun to
actively contact with downstream large users to explore the feasibility of
establishing nearby plants and supplying slurry materials.
In the past two years, the calcium carbonate industry has been paying
attention to energy conservation and emission reduction, vigorously promoting
the promotion of energy-saving equipment and energy-saving technologies, and
reducing the comprehensive energy consumption per ton of products by 5%. In
terms of pollution control, the focus is on dust pollution, especially calcium
oxide dust, workshop dust and secondary dust, and innovations and breakthroughs
in equipment and technology.
Recently, the Inorganic Salt Association has concluded two new
energy-saving devices. The first is energy-saving and environmentally friendly
automated calcining kiln. This is developed by a domestic company based on the
introduction of Japanese lime shaft kiln technology. The calcining kiln adopts
the technology of import and export waste heat exchange, 9-point uniform cloth
and non-stop wind ash, multi-point weighing control, power frequency conversion
operation, etc., and achieves kiln coal consumption of 120 kg per ton of ash and
raw over-fire control at 5 %~7%, the emission of soot is controlled at an
advanced level of 50 mg per cubic meter.
Second, the Inorganic Salt Association invites domestic centrifuge
manufacturers to develop a suitable large-scale energy-saving centrifuge for
light calcium production according to the lack of large-scale energy-saving
centrifuges in the industry. The Inorganic Salt Association is confident that
the promotion of this equipment can change the backwardness of the piles of
small centrifuges in domestic calcium carbonate enterprises.
